Spreydon English Language Centre has classes twice a week during school terms.
The tutors and helpers are volunteers. The tutors of classes have specialist ESOL training. Classes are small, friendly and practical with plenty of conversation.

Times and days of class:
1. Tuesday 9.30am - 12 noon
• Classes teaching English by focusing on topics of interest to newcomers to New Zealand, eg Education, Health, Shopping, NZ Geography, Holidays, Farming.
• There are several small classes from beginners to advanced.
• Cost: $5 per morning.
2. Friday 10.00am - 12 noon
• Classes teaching English using the Bible as the text; lessons include the life of Jesus and the teachings of Jesus.
• Small classes.
• Cost: Free.
We welcome all who want to learn English. New students can join our classes at any time. When students enrol they are assessed and join an English class with other students of the same English ability.
The materials used in the Friday English classes which use the Bible as the basic text have been prepared by Marj Robertson.

2012: The classes started on Tuesday February 14 and Friday February 17. We welcome new students at anytime.
Tuesdays - .
Come along at 9.30 am, join at any time during the term. Each Tuesday we have about 20 students from many different countries attending.
On Tuesdays we have several classes at different levels.
Fridays -
On Fridays we have two classes at different levels. Come and join us at 10am for morning tea before class. We are studying "Who is Jesus?"
Students can join our classes at the beginning of the term or at any time during the term.
Many of our students also enjoy attending Rice Cube, a group for Internationals which meets at Spreydon Baptist Church on a Friday night at 6pm.
