The SHARP Programmes operate out of Spreydon Baptist Church in Christchurch, New Zealand. Programmes available include After-School Care, Holiday Programmes and Camps.

A note about 2008

Due to changes in management the Holiday Programmes and the After-School Programmes will be running at a smaller capacity than usual.

The breakfast club will not be operating at all after December 2007.

SHARP operates out of the Spreydon Baptist Church facilities and is based around Christian values.

SHARP is a member of the OSCAR network and is approved by CYFS. This approval allows most families to access OSCAR/WINZ subsidies for Holiday Programme, Kids Camps and After-School Programmes.

After-School Programme

We began running an After-School Programme in July 2000. This After-School Programme is now divided into three age-based programmes:

'Cobham St After-School Programme’ for up to 20 children age 5 (Years 1-2)

'Junior After-School Recreation Programme’ for up to 20 children in Years 2-3

‘Senior After-School Recreational Programme’ for up to 22 children in Years 3-6

Places in these programmes are subject to availability.

We place a high value on the relationships formed between children and leaders. Our emphasis is on quality care through caring and dedicated staff. We provide a low child to leader ratio (1 leader to 4 or 5 children) and a safe and relaxing environment. We enjoy the use of an indoor basketball court, well-equipped kitchen facilities and a school pool.

Cost: $12.00 per child per day (WINZ subsidies are available)

Holiday Programmes

We began running a Holiday Programme in July 1999 with a role of 40 children per day. We provide a colourful range and choice of activities and trips. We have several age-based prgrammes that cater for children aged 5 to 14 years old.

Cost (WINZ subsidies are available):
Holiday Programmes: $100.00 per child per week (9am-3pm programmes only)                                                                            

Holiday Afternoon Care: $10.00 per child per afternoon (from 3-5.30pm)

Camps

SHARP began running week long camps at Glenroy for children in 2005. These camps run during the school holidays and cater for Year 4 - Year 7 children. Camp activities include flying fox, water slide, crafts, outdoor games and heaps of fun.
