| WELCOME | |
| Kia Ora church family, Welcome to the first Sunday of our new Life Together in Mission series. Steve Withington will be introducing this series in our morning services and AJ will build on it in the evening. If you haven’t yet purchased your study and daily readings book for the series, they are still available at the Media Room for $5. This material is designed for to get maximum benefit by working through it in a group context. So if you are not currently in a life group, why not form a short-term group with your friends or neighbours, or align yourself with an existing group for the few weeks. We would love for everyone to be a part of this series. Today we are also celebrating with Julie Kim from the Ricecube group, as she is baptised at 11am, and Anna Stevenson and Ruben Thielmann, both from SYC, as they are baptised in the 7pm service. The “How to sleep and cope well despite ongoing earthquakes” seminar is on for the second time tomorrow night, Monday 15 August 7.30 – 9.30pm in the Auditorium, led by Ross Gilmour, a registered psychologist and committed Christian from Wellington. I attended the first one, and can highly recommend it – it was very practical, helpful and easy to understand. It’s also free! Invite your friends. We are developing a page on the website for opportunities to be involved as a volunteer around the church. You’ll find the link on the home page at www.spreydon.org.nz From our readings this past week, John 20:20-21 The disciples, seeing the Master with their own eyes, were exuberant. Jesus repeated his greeting: "Peace to you. Just as the Father sent me, I send you." Go well, Di |
