| WELCOME | |
Hi everyone, Welcome to our services today. As we all know, today is the one year anniversary of the first earthquake, the beginning of the time when our lives and city changed forever. For many, the loss, hardship and uncertainty continue. There will be much reflection today on times past, but tonight in the ‘Celebration of Hope’ service, there is the opportunity to celebrate community life and look to the future with hope. In the morning and evening services today we will be hearing from Don McKenzie and Anthony Watt on the Kingdom of God…pictures, values and marks of the kingdom and where we might fit in. Make sure you mark the next two weeks in your diaries as we focus on what God is up to in the world. This is our Global Missions fortnight that we are sharing with Grace. This time is a highlight of our year here at Spreydon. Next Saturday at 6.30pm the Global Night Market kicks off our time of Global Missions focus. This is a ‘not to be missed’ event as is the MAD breakfast on September 17 where some of our overseas family will share. Pay $10 and pick up a ticket at the Info Centre today or during the week from Reception. If you didn’t get a programme last week you can pick up one of those at the Info Centre today as well. Our theme this year is Are you MAD… are you making a difference? Take care, go well and enjoy the coming of spring. Helen |
