WELCOME

Kia Ora Whanau,

The new Life Together in Mission series is upon us and we are excited about it! Life Groups – please start the series in your group this week, in preparation for the first lot of messages next Sunday. Study books are on sale today from the Media Room for $5, and life group leaders – please pick up your DVD from there as well. Enjoy!

The Spreydon women’s event is next weekend, on Friday night and all day Saturday, finishing with dinner on Saturday evening. Bishop Victoria will be sharing on Friday night about “Building Strength and Resiliency as Women of Faith”, and you will also hear stories from SBC women experiencing God's strength. You are welcome to come and go as much as you want!

Promise Keepers is also happening next weekend for men. If you want to be part of the group going from Spreydon please contact Rodney Read on 349 8851.

The “How to sleep and cope well despite ongoing earthquakes” seminar that was cancelled due to the snow is now rescheduled for Monday 15 August 7.30 – 9.30pm in the Auditorium. Ross Gilmour, a registered psychologist and committed Christian from Wellington, presented one seminar before the snow. One comment from an attendee was “It was excellent, very practical, useful and easy to listen to/absorb. My mum said it was good, so I can recommend it highly. So if the on-going earthquakes are having a negative impact on your ability to sleep, you are finding it hard to cope with the on-going uncertainty, or you are feeling stressed and anxious, this seminar is for you. It’s also free of charge!

Please remember Murray Overton in your prayers as he recovers from hip replacement surgery last Monday. At last report he was making very good progress and expected to be out of hospital by Friday.

Cheers,

Duane

Are you an extrovert and would like to shine shoes or busk or be a street hawker selling wares? Or an introvert and you could blow up balloons or make the chai for the street hawkers to sell through the evening? Does anyone have access to a fountain which could be set up indoors? Please contact me (so I don't have to chase you!!), especially if you've been involved before, Barb Harrington, 384 6103, 027 687 3787,
