Ever asked yourself why you're here? The Alpha course is designed to give you space to explore the big questions about life and faith. It starts up on Tuesday night and runs for 10 weeks. A great free dinner and good conversation guaranteed each week. Contact Ibrani for more info ibarus@spreydon.org.nz.
We pick up the Worship and Mission theme again this week. Alan is preaching on 'Let my people come' at the morning services and 'Let my people go' at the evening service, so there'll be a bit of coming and going!
Calling all people who need to work on listening, yep that is pretty much all of us. There's a fantastic opportunity coming up on Monday February 27. Ainslie McDowall, a psychotherapist, and our own Daphne are leading a workshop on 'Good Listening'. Email Cindy to register csmithies@spreydon.org.nz or just come along.
Lent began this week with Pancake Tuesday. Once again our household took out the local neighborhood pancake race for a third year running! The next 40 days are traditionally used to prepare ourselves for the Easter season. It's good to see a few more of us Baptists are joining in this ancient tradition. Whatever you do to help yourself enter into the Easter journey, I hope you are finding the space and time to do it well.
Cheers,
Ants

GLOBAL MISSION
Morag Paton
YWAM Megacities, London
"I have some very exciting news and an answer to prayer; Jenn and I now have new accommodation to live in! We moved 2 weeks ago, and live right SMACK in the City of London. I walk out the front door, there is a bus stop directly outside and we are right in the middle of the central tube line, I couldn't ask for anything more central.
Our time here is flying by. I am constantly blessed by the incredible privilege I have to see God at work. Day after day I meet with pastors who share what God is placing on their heart, we strategise for how the teams can continue to be fruitful in London, looking for increased opportunity to work together as groups of churches and continuing to see London reached for Christ.
Would you continue to pray with me? Your prayers are like gold, and they move mountains.
Thanks again."

COMMUNITY MINISTRY
New Horizons
Today we say a huge thank you to Lorna Davies who, until last year, headed up New Horizons.
The group originally started in 1994 as a monthly activities programme for the elderly from Cobham Village. However, in 2004 Lorna changed the name and brought new life to the group with her vibrant personality and great organisational skills.
Each month a busload of seniors from our local community would head off to a concert, a picnic or a similar activity. Lorna, along with some great volunteers, befriended those who came along. However, as life has changed for us all, Lorna has moved on to new and exciting things and she willingly passes the mantel to Ruth Townshend. The New Horizons folk will be cared for and welcomed into the new activities happening around Spreydon.
So Lorna, we pray God's blessing on you for all you have given and for what He has in store for you. Thank you.
