SHARP operates four age based After School Programmes

All programmes operate from Spreydon Baptist Church and run from the school pick up to 5:30pm.                          

$13.00 per afternoon.  WINZ subsidies available.

 

Kindy Programme (KD): Years 1 - 2

Cobham St Programme (CS) : Years 2 - 3

Junior Recreation Programme (JR) : Years 4 - 5

Senior Recreation Programme (SR) : Years 6 - 9

 

Activities include:

·         Afternoon tea

·         Compulsory homework/ reading  time of approximately 15 -  25mins depending on the age group.

·         Every day there is an organised activity eg: baking, craft, team game, construction, etc

·         There is also room for down time and recreational play

·         There is a trip at least once a term in JR and SR

Transport (Getting to SHARP):

Transport to the programme is the responsibility of the parents/caregiver, however children attending Somerfield, Hoon Hay, West Spreydon and Our Lady of the Assumption schools can be picked up by  vans. Children attending Chch South and Manning Intermediates, Cashmere and Hillmorton High Schools need to make their own way to their programmes. *

 

* At least one supervisor will be  in the vans at any one time.

 

School Assembly points:

Assembly points at schools vary so please ask when you enrol your child/ren.

 

Pick up points for parents:

KD - Spreydon Baptist Community Preschool, opposite Spreydon Baptist Reception on Lyttelton Street.

 

CS - Hall at 51 Cobham St, behind Spreydon Baptist Church Gym.

 

JR - Spreydon Baptist Church, Foyer/Gym.

 

SR - Spreydon Baptist Church, Foyer/Auditorium

 

(All children will be at 55 Cobham Street if a parent is late to pick up their child)

 

Sign In / out:

Each child will sign themselves in on arrival at their programme. The person picking the child up must sign them out. This roll will be in an obvious place in the programme.

 

Behaviour:

Children are expected to behave in a sociable manner. Children who obstruct the safe working of the programme will have their caregiver contacted. The caregiver will be expected to come immediately and collect the child. No refund will be given.

 

Health:

Sick children will not be permitted to attend the programme. If a child becomes unwell during the programme the caregiver will be contacted to collect their child. There will be no refund.

 

Fee Payment:

The SHARP Trust bank account no. is: 02 0820 0602250 00 for internet banking or you can ask for an automatic payment form.

Fees must be paid for all the days that your child is booked in for. Fees need to be paid to the SHARP bank account (02 0820 0602250 00), one week in advance of care. Receipts will be given at the end of each term. If you fail to pay your account and SHARP has to involve a debt collection agency, the collection costs incurred will be added to the total of your account.

 

Absences:

If your child will not be attending a day that they are enrolled for, please phone the SHARP office before 2:30pm on 3384163 ex: 222 (After School) and speak to Amy.

 

Refunds:

There are no refunds for absences

 

Staffing:

There will be 2 adult supervisors and a number of volunteer helpers aged 14-17 years old. There will be a ratio of 1 staff member to approx 7-8 children each day.

 

Policies and Procedures:

A book of current policies and procedures is available in the programme at all times for anyone to view.

 

Emergencies:

Our staff are trained to deal with emergencies. In the case of a serious accident involving your child the staff member will contact you and take your child to the nearest medical facility or call an ambulance. In the case of a civil emergency staff will remain on site until all children are collected.

 

Child Safety:

The programme has a detailed Child Protection procedure, which includes the reporting of any suspected child abuse to Child, Youth and Family Services.

 

Complaints:

The programme has a complaints procedure. If you have any concerns, please approach the Supervisor or Coordinator.
